Hi, I’m Kate. This is my wonderful friend Islam Al-Shaer, who is desperately in need of support to feed her 3 children.

Please read their story below ⬇️

“Hello friends, I need your help for me, my family and my children. My house was burned down due to the war in Gaza, and I was displaced more than once from one area to another to protect my children, although there is no safe place in Gaza. Our clothes were burned and my house was also destroyed. I lost all our belongings, our clothes, children’s toys and everything in it. I am currently living in tents in a very difficult situation.

No food, no drink, no clothes, no blankets. We are exposed to hunger, death and cold at night to the point that we cannot sleep because of the extreme cold.

I am collecting these donations to help my family and other families like me who also need help… Please be kind and give us a helping hand and enough support so that we can buy the minimum necessities of clothes, blankets and healthy food.

I lost my house which was destroyed and burned down due to the continuous bombing of Gaza.

This is my family who is helping us.

I am: Islam (housewife), 32 years old.

My husband: Mohammed (multimedia). He is 40 years old.

My daughters: Taqi (student). She is 8 years old, she was supposed to go to third grade but her school was destroyed due to the war and she did not complete her studies.

Ghani is 4 years old, she did not go to her own nursery and did not learn.

And my son Abdullah is only 7 years old, he was supposed to go to first grade but due to the war he did not complete his studies.

How will your support be used? We need a lot of essentials that we cannot buy and do not have.

If you cannot donate, the best thing you can do for us is to share this with your friends and community. I want my family to be out of harm’s way, and we would appreciate it.”

لقد احترق منزلي بسبب الحرب في غزة،ونزحت اكثر من مرة من منطقة الي اخري كي احمي اطفال رغم انه لا مكان أمن في غزة واحترقت ملابسنا ودُمر منزلي أيضًا. لقد فقدت كل ممتلكاتنا، ملابسنا، ألعاب الأطفال وكل شيء فيه. أنا أعيش حاليًا في خيام في وضع صعب للغاية.

لا طعام ولا شراب ولا ملابس ولا بطانيات. نحن معرضون للجوع والموت والبرد ليلاً لدرجة أننا لا نستطيع النوم بسبب البرد الشديد.

أنا أجمع هذه التبرعات لمساعدة عائلتي والعائلات الأخرى مثلي التي تحتاج إلى المساعدة أيضًا… يرجى أن تكونوا لطفاء وتمنحونا يد العون والدعم الكافي حتى نتمكن من شراء الحد الأدنى من الضروريات من الملابس والبطانيات والطعام الصحي.

وابني عبد الله يبلغ من العمر 7 سنوات فقط كان من المفترض أن يذهب إلى الصف الأول ولكن بسبب الحرب لم يكمل دراسته.

Islam’s kids have been crying in pain from hunger, and her doctor says that her oldest daughter Taqi is developing alopecia due to malnutrition and her poor psychological state.

Islam desperately wants to feed them and buy treatment to prevent Taqi from losing the rest of her hair, but even a simple bag of flour can cost up to $700 now (nearly $1,000 in Canadian dollars)

If you’re able to, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and family, or even chip in a few extra dollars to help them find their next meal. They have no choice but to rely on our compassion, unfortunately.

Hi friends,

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Islam’s campaign so far. I want to give you an update on the famine that her family is now facing.

No aid has entered Gaza in over 2 months, and the cost of the minimal food and supplies that is still available has skyrocketed.

Here in Canada, a bag of flour might cost you around $25CAD ($18USD)

In Gaza, the same bag could cost anywhere from $200USD ($278CAD) to $1,000USD ($1,393CAD)

Even if all products in the markets were provided for free, there is still a severe lack of resources to rely on as well. No fruit, no meat, no eggs, no dairy, and no medicine.

It is terrifying to know that her children are starving right in front of our eyes, but this fear should not hold us back from doing what we can to keep them alive.

Islam urgently needs these funds, and I hope to send her the largest amount possible to account for the exchange rate ($1CAD = $0.70USD) and transfer fees. These are unavoidable reductions, as Gazans are charged in US currency, but please know that I do not take a single penny from these donations as the campaign organizer.

Ex. $600CAD = $430USD
